About Emma Jack
Emma is a family carer, a qualified Wu Tao Dance instructor and a member of the 2016 Memory Bridge alumni. She has completed over 100 hours of training in dementia care and compassionate communication, including the Spark of Life practitioner course and Dance for PD workshops. Emma says: “My vision is to provide creative and nurturing spaces for people with Dementia and their Carers to connect and enjoy life.” Building on decades of yoga and meditation practice, Emma also receives inspiration from Open Floor Dance and Tamalpa Art Life Institute teachers. She works closely with Wu Tao founder Michelle Locke, who developed a dementia specific Wu Tao offering in collaboration with DBMAS (the Dementia Behaviour Management Advisory Service). A study by Alzheimers Australia was subsequently featured in the Nursing Times Journal. Emma hosts a Weekly Wellness group for people living with Memory Loss and a weekly Wu Tao general public class - dancing the five elements cycle. Both are held in Fremantle. Dance for Dementia movement workshops are also available - for people living at home and in full time care - both one-on-one and for groups. See embodylove.com.au for details.
